Larc’s Mission and Philosophy
For over 50 years the Larc School mission and philosophy have been serving students and their families.
Our Mission
Larc School strives to meet the needs of all students and adults with varying disabilities in a dignified manner by providing opportunities for growth, development and most importantly, independence.
We recognize that an individual’s success soars when a strong connection between family, school and community exists. That connection, when combined with Larc’s educational, therapeutic and recreational curriculum, allows each individual to reach their greatest potential.
Our Philosophy
Our philosophy of teaching and learning is rooted in addressing the needs of the “Whole Child.” Learn more about our Whole Child Philosophy here.
Academically, we use multi-sensory teaching techniques and curricula tailored to the needs of the individual student in accordance with his or her Individualized Education Program (IEP). Our approach to the whole child adds more; Larc plans for and provides services that ensure the long-term success our students. Our family-like school climate supports our students physically, emotionally and socially, and prompts them to love learning, and lead healthy and happy lives as they grow and mature.
Our goal is to help each child — to the maximum extent possible for each — develop their own voice and motivation, and gain the knowledge, skills and independence they need for meaningful participation in their families and the community.
