Addressing Needs Throughout Lives
Larc School offers a variety of special education programs and therapies that address the educational and functional needs of our students throughout their lives.
Larc’s Whole Child Philosophy
At the core of our Whole Child Philosophy is our understanding that children grow physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually, and need particular and individualized support in that process.
Preschool
A nurturing and supportive setting designed for children with disabilities ages three to five years old. Half day and full day options are available based on a child’s social, emotional and educational needs.
Primary/Intermediate
Providing a variety of learning activities and experiences — with a focus on communication and language enrichment — that addresses the individualized learning goals and objectives of each student.
Secondary
A functional academic curriculum for students ages 14-21 with significant opportunities for growth in independence, work readiness, and meaningful involvment in the community.
Therapies and Related Services
Critical related services and therapies to support student learning; communication; speech and language development; sensory, perceptual and motor development; and, social and emothional growth.
Community Based Experiences
Hands on learning in natural settings to help students learn and use skills they need to live as independently as possible, including intensive instruction in functional and daily living skills.
Technology and Equipment
Assistive Technology (AT) devices and services that make learning more accessible, and helping students perform tasks that otherwise would be difficult or impossible to accomplish.
Extended School Year
Individualized special education and related services beyond the normal school year, continuing academic and therapeutic supports received during the school year, and ensure readiness for the next.
Adult Program
Special Needs Adult Program serving individuals with developmental disabilities over the age of 21, offering recreational and socialization opportunities in program and in the community.
