Pam Tozour, B.A., Elem. Ed., NJ K-8 Cert. Director, Larc Norcross School, Adult Program

Pam is a graduate of Rowan University where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. She holds a certificate to teach grades K-8.
At the onset of her career, Pam obtained a teaching position at a private school in Vineland, NJ. She taught 6th grade for 3 years. As school enrollment expanded, she moved into the administrative role of Middle School Principal where she served for 5 years. During her time as Principal, she oversaw a program of approximately 150 Middle School students (grades 6-8), and assisted the program in obtaining Middle States Accreditation.
After the birth of her first child, she took 8 years off to raise her two children. When it was time to return to the workforce, Pam chose to pursue a career working with people with disabilities.
She was inspired to take this path as throughout her middle and high school years, Pam volunteered hours of service to various nursing homes in the South Jersey area, to spend time with the residents and help brighten their lives. Pam’s passion for these individuals led her to search for job opportunities where she could help and support, and that is when she found Larc. She didn’t realize though that Larc would not only be a new career path for her, but that Larc would also make such a positive impact on her life personally.
Pam started her journey in the Larc Norcross School Adult Program in 2009 and served in several positions such as Program Coordinator, Program Supervisor, and currently Program Director. Pam found that working with the men and women of the program was such rewarding work, and she considers them part of her family. Pam was also inspired by the Adult Program staff and families who showed such dedication, care, concern, and love for the men and women in our program.
Pam has been a part of and has overseen many changes in the program initiated by the State, but the largest project was the transition to the Medicaid Fee for Service Program. Nevertheless, most importantly, Pam is proud to work alongside the dedicated staff in the program providing supports with a person centered approach that emphasizes: Socialization, Community Integration, Building Skills of Independence, Quality Nursing Care, Respect, Dignity, and Empowerment.
Pam personally, credits her family for supporting her in dedicating her life to such an important cause. Whenever attention at home was needed for the program, Pam’s family would say, “Go mom, take care of it, they need you”. Pam states that this support is so needed and appreciated.
Pam resides in Pitman, NJ with her husband, son, and daughter where they enjoy days down in Stone Harbor and Cape May, and time spent with family, especially Sunday dinners.
